About Our Campaign

At Peer Washington, we believe that sharing our stories is one of the most powerful tools for recovery. When we open up about where we’ve been and how we’ve grown, we help others see that they’re not alone—that healing is possible and that connection can change everything.
100 Peer Stories is a three-month storytelling campaign that celebrates the many faces and paths of recovery. We invite staff, members, and anyone in our community to share their recovery stories—whether written, recorded, or spoken—so that others seeking help can find hope and understanding in your words.
Stories can be shared online at 100peerstories.org or on paper at any Peer Washington location; each story can also include photos, videos, or audio recordings.
To make these stories easy to explore, we’re tagging them by themes like recovery journey, mental health, peer support, substance use, chronic illness, and more—so anyone can find stories that reflect their own experiences.
Over the next three months, our goal is simple but powerful: to collect 100 stories that remind us all that recovery isn’t a straight line—it’s a shared journey. By adding your voice, you’re helping to build a living archive of courage, connection, and community.
Together, we can show the world that recovery is real—and that every peer story matters.
